Regular meetings
Once you are a member you will gain access to a range of services,
including membership meetings. At which you can expect to hear reports on current
NCBA developments, with guest speakers covering a range of related issues,
from funding opportunities to child protection.
Twice a year we bring projects
together in the form of regional meetings and hold a national AGM once a
year. All meetings have an open, supportive feel, a great chance to share concerns
and solve problems.

Members gain...
The NCBA has established good relationships with other national waterways
bodys, such as British Waterways and the Maritime and Coast Guard Agency,
and have recently had our training recommended in the MCA Small Passenger Boat
Code.
Our boat management courses are also accredited to the Open College Network,
helping to provide a clear progression through accredited learning.
The NCBA has a dedicated marketing programme, which builds local, regional
and national awareness throughout the year. As part of this, members are brought
together through exhibitions and events organised and supported by the NCBA
team. We also have a stock of community boating promotional CDs and leaflets,
which are available for free to all project members. We can provide a ‘hands
on’ approach to improving marketing and promotional efforts at every
stage of the process, which in the past has been proved to help community boat
projects successfully re-brand themselves.

Training packages
As a member you will have access to a range of ‘community
boat’ related training, which covers all aspects of using
the boat, handling the boat and managing groups on board.
This also covers issues to do with running a charitable project,
recruiting and working with volunteers.
A full range of courses can be found in
the 'Find A Course'
page.

The
Lifejacket
The lifejacket is intended to help groups who are thinking about setting
up a boat project. It is also aims to be a useful tool for current boat
projects looking for advise in the following areas:
- Marketing
- Finance including fund raising
- Managing People
- Training & Safety
- Networking
The five booklets come presented in a waterproof plastic box
and are aimed at stimulating discussion and debate within the
boat projects - management, trustees and volunteers. It
will also be a valuable reference book for volunteers and user
groups.

The
'Cut'
The magazine has been championed as the
best way of sharing information, news and views, highlighting boats for
sale, jobs and recommendations from across the network. We also offer
a limited amount of advertising space for non members.
Examples of articles from the 'Cut' magazine can be
found in the
'Cut' page.
